Job Summary

Ensure the timeliness and accuracy of all daily, weekly, monthly and annual financial information. Supervise the accounting department, and ensure all corporate and brand accounting policies and procedures are carried out. Ensure prompt and courteous service to guests. Effectively manage time, and meet or exceed productivity standards. Provide financial guidance and support by serving on hotel executive committee. About 25% of the job will be related to Human Resources hiring and onboarding employees and managing training with department heads.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned):


    -Accounts Payables, Accounts Receivables, Internal Audit Procedures, Daily Reports, Deposits, Month End, Inventories, etc.
    -Demonstrate positive leadership characteristics which inspire employees to exceed standards.
    -Direct the development and implementation of internal control to ensure the security of hotel assets and the accurate recording of assets, liabilities, income, expenses, and other transactions.
    -Prepare monthly account reconciliations.
    -Assure hotel meets internal and external audit standards.
    -Assist General Manager and Corporate Controller in preparation of annual budget, and update forecasts throughout the year as required by the management company.
    -Provide financial oversight of the capital expenditure process.
    -Distribute and monitor monthly departmental checkbooks.
    -Assist department heads with monthly invoices and accruals.
    -Ensure that all licenses, permits and insurance policies are current and are in compliance with local, state and federal laws. Monitor all contracts and agreements and advise hotel management of the terms, conditions, and benefits.
    -Periodic audits of cash on hand.

Additional Duties

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems.
