Job description

2nd shift Assistant Production Manager is needed for expanding personal care MFG firm. Expanding the business and adding a 2nd shift production crew. Will train 1-3 months on 1st shift before moving to 2nd shift hours. Will oversee and direct the operation and personnel of production are monitoring quality, efficiency, safety and troubleshooting. Ensure procedures are followed and that all those on the line are properly trained in the duties of the job.

Hours = Train on 1st shift and then will switch to 2nd shift hours after training period
Pay = $40-$60K based on experience and qualifications

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Responsible for:
• All team associate PPE (personal protective equipment) requirements.
• Meeting all Production Leader job descriptions.
• Verification of all work orders.
• Flow through of all operational production lines verifying correct speeds, correct staff, and quality of production without allowing oneself to be locked down.
• Attendance of all mandatory meetings on and off normal business hours.
• Removing and an expert at identifying all obstacles that stand between all production area jobs
• Expert at conflict resolution, maintaining a professional demeanor, and always being honest and constructive.
• Involved in employee appraisals, merit increases, written warnings and terminations within a timely fashion avoiding delay.
• Easily identifies production lines available to operate and the potential of production lines to run.
• Conducts staff meetings including, but not limited to, Redzone huddles.
• Responds immediately and professionally to all communications whether through radio, page, phone message or email.
• Maintaining and completing accurate reports including but not limited to time cards.
• Oversees the staff training and documentation and resolves each deficiency.
• Administrate incentive program and identify potential and acting on.
• Responsible for managing time and attendance records.
• Oversee operations when supervisor is absent.
• Communicate effectively with others.

Required Education, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

• Demonstrated competency and proficiency in all production area jobs.
• Minimum 2-3 year experience in Lead or Supervisor position in manufacturing environment.
• Ability to train others in the competencies of production area jobs.
• Proven ability to follow safety, FDA/GMP/SOPS guidelines and general employment rules and guidelines.
• Ability to direct, communicate, delegate, problem solve, organize, prioritize, and handle multiple tasks at once.
• Ability to work independently and make sound decisions.
• Clear and concise communication skills to employees.
Preferred Knowledge, Certifications, Skills, Abilities:
• Experience in a lead position in manufacturing environment.
• Advanced training in Quality Control systems.
• Computer proficient.
• Certifications in MAT, CPR & First Aid, OSHA, and Forklift.
