About Pedal Steel Solar
Pedal Steel Solar is a growing business and a utility scale solar development company that is focused on developing and owning solar assets in Arkansas and surrounding states including Mississippi, Louisiana, Missouri and Tennessee.
About the Position
The successful candidate will be an integral member of the Pedal Steel Solar leadership team owning overall responsibility for effective financial management and reporting. The Director of Finance will work closely with leadership in achieving financial and operational plan objectives, enhancing the controls environment, streamlining processes and supporting project development and financing. The Director of Finance must possess a strong desire to support the finance and business development efforts for a growing company.
What you will do
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
• Demonstrate visible leadership, driving the development and execution of clear financial plans, strategic and tactical objectives, and a project pipeline
• Develop a world-class controls environment, including:
• Delivering accurate and reliable financial reporting to management and ownership on a monthly basis Assessing and improving policies, procedures and system controls
• Proactively identifying and driving accounting process improvements
• Provide leadership and vision for scaling the organization and systems infrastructure to accommodate business growth
• Own the annual budgeting and planning process, and coordinate with various stakeholders for forecasting purposes
• Assist in developing the financing strategy across the company
• Understanding energy financing programs, solar markets and credits
• Tracking legislative, regulatory and market changes that impact financing opportunities
• Support (and potentially lead) project financings and negotiations with local developers, banks and tax equity investors
Experience and Qualifications required:
· 7+ years of progressive accounting experience in a renewable energy development is required
· 4-year degree in Accounting; CPA and/or Big Four accounting experience is preferred
· 5+ years solar development experience is preferred
· ERP administration experience
· Strong working knowledge with ERP and advanced Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word skills
· Demonstrated ability to implement effective internal controls, processes, and procedures and lead through periods of change
· Solid understanding of multi-entity consolidations and intercompany accounting
· Experience managing an accounting department and a passion for growing and mentoring a team of accounting professionals
