Job Summary: To plan, organize, consult and manage strategic and organizational development initiatives in addition to the assigned daily administrative and operational activities of employee programs and services within the human resource department, which may include, benefits, compensation, employee records, employee relations, recruitment, training, and selection.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
1. Interviews, hires, evaluates, manages, and develops staff and ensure accountability for achievement of department goals. Directly supervises Human Resources Representative, Training Specialist, Training & Instructional Design Specialist, and Administrative Assistants that provide support to five departments.
2. Manages and evaluates departmental activities to ensure effectiveness of daily operations and continuous improvement of programs and services, and researches and identifies best practices in the human resources field.
3. Develops, recommends, and participates in organizational development by assessing the existing processes involving people within an organization, then conduct interventions to try and create positive and productive improvement.
4. Provide advice and counsel to managers and supervisors regarding human resource practices, policies, and employment law.
5. Participates in the development and monitoring of the annual department budget.
6. Develops, recommends, and participates in the implementation of new programs and service initiatives, as well as enforces current policies, procedures, guidelines, and standards of operations.
7. Responsible for all FMLA administration and communication.
8. Keeps abreast of human resources trends affecting the organization and department functions and updates management as appropriate.
9. Manages an individual who is responsible for oversight of the recruitment function within the organization.
10. Administers applicant tracking system and assists managers and employees with system training.
Perform other related assigned duties as necessary to complete the Primary Job Responsibilities as described above.
Minimum Qualifications:
Will accept any suitable combination of education, training or experience. Position requires a bachelor's degree in human resources or a related field, master's degree preferred, and seven years of human resources experience with three years' of leadership experience. SHRM-SCP or SPHR certification preferred. Strong background in coaching, resolving conflicts and providing advice and counsel of management is preferred.
