If you are a Business Development Manager professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you! Covering the West Region, you will be responsible for growing the Lifecycle Services business for Emerson instrumentation.

AS A BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER , YOU WILL:

  • Area Product Sales Leadership
    • Assists in providing training to various sales channels to ensure levels of product/application expertise exist
    • Communicate and facilitate implementation of business unit sales strategies within a sales area
    • Participate in project pursuit and account penetration planning and execution
    • Provide direction on targe accounts based on business unit segmentation strategies
    • Provide input on salesperson product knowledge and sales performance
    • Support local trade show participation
    • Maintain and communicate knowledge of competitor, strategies, and products
    • Suggest appropriate sales and service staffing levels to implement business unit strategies
    • Suggest appropriate candidates for business unit partnerships
    • Provide pricing authority for major projects
  • Product Line Planning
    • Provide feedback to divisions on products, including input to decisions on product competitiveness and suggesting new products and/or enhancement to existing products
    • Coordinate new product field testing within assigned area, and new product introductions and training
  • Strategic Planning Input
    • Coordinate factory resources needed for the area
    • Provide input on major competitor strategies within assigned area and identify regional market opportunities for measurement products
    • Contribute to market segment definition and establishment of divisional position within a segment
    • Communicate and support business unit strategies within area and provide ongoing feedback on success of strategy implementation
    • Participate in forecasting activities and maintain responsibilities for achieving established sales goals
  • Provide General Business Support
    • Monitor pricing and discounting, customer satisfaction levels, and provide specific recommendations for improvement
    • Ensure divisional quality plan
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

  • Bachelor Science in Engineering or Technical Discipline
  • Six (6) years of industry experience; three (3) of which must be in sales or marketing
  • Ability to travel 30%+
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States
  • Valid driver's license


PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
  • Prior experience in industrial automation and instrumentation
  • Prior experience selling and/or hands-on experience with Emerson instrumentation products
