Job description
Description: Under close supervision, performs a variety of general personnel/clerical tasks in such areas as employee records, benefits, education/training, employment, compensation, and equal employment opportunity. Maintains both manual and automated personnel records, collects and compiles sensitive and confidential personnel statistics and prepares reports. In accordance with procedures, furnishes information to authorized persons and/or agencies. Provides information to all levels of employees regarding personnel policies and procedures.
Essential Functions:
- Performs a variety of tasks in support of National Human Resources Services Center's (NHRSC) transaction processing and delivery of services related to employees' requests for changes and information regarding pay, benefits, leaves, workers' compensation, personal status changes, and other human resources related data. Duties includes mailing and faxing receipt of personnel related forms and letters, document scanning and indexing, internal distribution of documents within the HR Service Center, and processing of routine HR transactions using Windows-based information systems.
- Responds professionally, accurately and timely to employee requests for information and changes by assisting with processing routine Human Resources transactions.
- Enters, processes and retrieves employee data utilizing a Windows-based Human Resources system to make updates to employee records and to obtain information. requested by employees.
- Scans, indexes and retrieves Human Resources documents utilizing image-capture systems.
- Provides clerical support as needed such as filing, file requests, photocopying, mailings and word processing.
- May support more than one team as business needs arise.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
Basic Qualifications: Experience
- Minimum six (6) months in related experience.
Education
- High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.
License, Certification, Registration

Additional Requirements:- Ability to process transactions w/in 95% accuracy rate as measured by internal quality assurance performance measures.
- Advanced reading skills and basic math skills.
- Attention to detail, accuracy and quality.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Effective interpersonal, verbal, communication and customer service skills.
- Demonstrated experience navigating Windows based Human Resources information systems.
- Acquires job skills and learns company policies and procedures to complete routine tasks.
- Knowledge of Kaiser Permanente benefits and pay plans.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively navigate multiple HR systems; Strong keyboarding skills required. Attention to detail, accuracy and quality.
- Experience with PeopleSoft 8.8 or 9.1 or other HR Systems.
- Basic proficiency in MS Word and Excel.
- Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.
Preferred Qualifications:- Six (6) months experience in a customer service operations environment preferred.
