We are looking for a Senior Business Analyst who will engage with finance teams and the engineering organization. Within the Finance processes, the primary focus of this position is billing, revenue and quote-to-cash (QTC). This position will require strong cross-functional skills, ability to translate business requirements into system requirements, change management skills and ability to drive business/system requirements and projects to completion.
This position is an individual contributor role reporting to the Director of Finance Technology & Operations. Responsibilities include working with the finance teams to execute on new enhancements and initiatives required by the business, including requirements gathering to driving user acceptance testing (UAT). The individual in this role must have experience with quote-to-cash processes and financial systems, focusing specifically on billing and revenue processes, strong project management, and communication skills.
To succeed in this role you must have experience in:
- Work closely with finance and sales operations partners and technology teams to define business /system solutions, understand and document processes, requirements and any gaps/remediation
- Lead requirements gathering sessions, engaging with finance teams Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to document business requirements
- Analyze existing business processes, systems and flows of data to identify opportunities for improvement to support rapid growth
- Develop and maintain documentation of new and existing business processes and related systems
- Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, distill high-level information down to key details
- Work closely with vendors, implementation partners, architects, developers and business units to ensure end-to-end technical compatibility and user satisfaction
- Work with various teams to develop project milestones and timelines for development, UAT, production validation (smoke testing) and go-live
- Support and develop reporting, dashboards and business intelligence capabilities through partnership with IT and finance operations to effectively manage projects and billing operations
- Provide training to the finance stakeholders on the new system capabilities, including end to end business process flows and any required manual processes
- Document and communicate status, issues and risks with recommended solutions in a timely manner to stakeholders and senior management
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance/Accounting or equivalent work experience
- 3 - 5 years of experience in quote-to-cash, accounting and/or revenue recognition with involvement in related systems enhancements projects or implementations in SaaS / Cloud financial systems (e.g. NetSuite/Oracle, Revstream, Stripe, Salesforce, Blackline)
- Experience in quote to cash processes and SaaS billing eco-systems
- Must be self-starter, able to work independently, thrive in a fast-paced environment, customer centric and have the interpersonal skills necessary to manage relationships effectively
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with both technical and non-technical teams
- Strong organization/project management skills and experience successfully working cross-functionally
- Familiarity with revenue recognition ASC 606 is preferred
- Intermediate knowledge of software and spreadsheet applications including Excel, Tableau report creation and Oracle SQL knowledge is preferred
- Ability to embrace ambiguity and thrive in a rapidly changing business environment
