Job description

Rapidly growing medical devices company is seeking a Talent Acquisition / Human Resources Manager to manage all aspects of HR within the company. Initially the focus of this role will be recruitment -- to "scale up" a highly technical engineering team. This will transition to site Human Resources (HR) leadership, including hiring and interviewing staff, administering pay, benefits, and leave and managing company policies.

Candidates will be considered at the manager and director level depending on experience, but this is a very "hands on" tactical role with a rapidly growing company.

Requirements for Talent Acquisition / Human Resources Manager:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 7+ years progressive experience in human resources
  • HR experience in a life sciences start up, developing policies, programs and driving rapid recruitment program
  • A strong background in technical or scientific recruiting and a track record of accomplishment in scaling up a tech heavy workforce
  • Some HR generalist experience which includes all aspects of HR, hiring, termination, benefits, pay, training.
  • 3+ years of experience in an HR leadership role
  • A willingness to think outside the box, develop employee relationships in a rapidly growing company
  • An understanding of California state labor policies and regulations
  • Strong communications skills; oral, written, electronic
  • The ability to pivot when circumstances dictate and successfully manage multiple competing priorities.
  • "Can do" attitude.

Responsibilities for the Talent Acquisition / Human Resources Manager:

  • Help develop and implement human resource policies
  • Drive a successful "scale up" recruiting campaign which includes "hands on" technical recruiting
  • Administer compensation and benefit plans
  • Manage all talent acquisition and recruitment processes
  • Conduct employee onboarding and help organize training and development initiatives
  • Support employees in various HR areas like leaves and compensation
  • Promote HR programs to create synergy among staff
  • Manage employee performance management, organize quarterly and annual employee performance reviews
  • Gather and analyze data with useful HR metrics, like time to hire and employee turnover rates
  • Improve the organization's human resources function by planning, implementing, and evaluating employee relations and human resources policies, programs, and practices.
