Job description

The position of Nutrition Regulatory Associate reports to the Director Regulatory Affairs, and will work closely with Scientific Affairs, R&D, Quality and Marketing to collect pertinent information in the creation of Product Dossiers for Dietary Supplements. This position will entail ensuring compliance of nutritional products for both Natrol LLC and Jarrow Formulas. This includes compiling a Product Dossier that will contain all the product information such as Raw Materials, Formula and Formula assessments, Finished Goods Specifications, Claims and Substantiation, Labels and Marketing Materials, SDSs and Licensing Activities (notifications). The Nutrition Regulatory Associate should be knowledgeable in food science and nutrition to be able to understand the required information for the Product Dossiers. In particular, the Nutrition Regulatory Associate should have a good understanding of nutrition and biochemistry to collaborate with Scientific Affairs ensuring that the claims are substantiated. In addition, the Nutrition Regulatory Associate may have to analyze previously recorded data, respond to raised questions quickly and be knowledgeable of all the appropriate points and basics of the subject matter in question.


  1. Have a good understanding of nutrition and biochemistry to ensure that structure function claims are adequately substantiated.
  2. Have a good understanding of nutrition and fundamental food regulatory requirements in foods and dietary supplements.
  3. Be cognizant of Raw Material information, Formulas, Claims and Substantiation, and Labels and Marketing Material.
  4. Create Product Dossiers with all the required categories and information as mandated by the FDA for on file Dietary Supplement requirements.
  5. Assist the Director and Sr Manager of Regulatory Affairs in the company by analyzing previously recorded data and providing inputs.
  6. Assist with Regulatory research for most current and updated food laws at the request of the Sr Manager and Director of Regulatory Affairs.
  7. Respond to raised questions quickly and be knowledgeable of all the appropriate points and basics of the subject matter in question.

  1. Bachelor's Degree (BS) in Food Science and Nutrition.
  2. Up to one year's experience in nutritional regulatory.
  3. Excellent writing and comprehension skills.
  4. Basic computer skills: word, excel, outlook, etc.
  5. Research Skills.
  6. Strong Project Management experience required, Organizational Management, Cross-functional communication, Leadership.
  7. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, Strong sense of ownership and accountability, Attention to detail.
  8. Should have strong analytical skills and hunger for perfection.
