Job description

Description/Job Summary

As one of the construction industry's leading suppliers of building materials, we are always looking for future leaders. The Manager Trainee position is expected to be a short-term transitional role that provides both work assignments and training opportunities to prepare MT's to be promoted into Store Management, Sales, Coordinator, or corporate positions.

84 Lumber soon will be subject to COVID-19 vaccine requirements under OSHA's Emergency Temporary Standard. As a result, we are requiring all new associates to submit proof of full vaccination with one of the three COVID-19 vaccines approved and/or authorized by the FDA, or proof of having received the first vaccine dose with the second dose scheduled, on or before their first day of employment, unless the associate has been approved for an exemption.

Pay: $16/hr. PLUS bonuses. Manager Trainees are paid on a combination of "hourly" pay and a monthly "bonus" opportunity based on the store hitting its Monthly Sales Quota. Please ask the recruiter for a compensation breakdown.

Schedule: 6am-5pm Monday-Saturday. Saturdays are worked on a rotating basis. You will work a minimum of 48 hours.

Training: At 84 Lumber we offer an excellent and comprehensive Early Development Program and Self Study Program. All successful candidates attend a 3-day training program at our Corporate Headquarters where you will get one on one training with our field experienced trainers.

Promotions: 84 Lumber Company not only helps build your foundation; we also promote nearly 100% from within! 95% of our current managers, Area Managers and VPs all started off as Manager Trainee's. Usually within the first year, successful Manager Trainees are promoted to Co-Manager of a store, a Contractor Sales Representative, or a position at our Team Headquarters.
