Social Impact & Sustainability leads the development of strategic initiatives and corporate commitments to drive positive, innovative social impact and sustainability, manage critical environmental and social issues, and enhance Wells Fargo's reputation as a leader in Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) performance. This team is responsible for the Wells Fargo Foundation, community relations, impact investing, and integrating sustainability, human rights, social justice, and equity considerations throughout the company.
Corporate Responsibility and Community Relations operates as the link between the company and the communities we serve, focusing on stakeholder engagement and corporate social responsibility strategies and programs. The group includes teams that manage the company's corporate philanthropy, environmental affairs, community relations, diversity and inclusion, and diverse community capital programs.
Reporting to the Community Relations Senior Manager for Northern CA, this Community Relations Sr Consultant will have leadership responsibility for the program management and implementation of the Wells Fargo community development initiatives for counties within the San Francisco bay area. Will promote Wells Fargo's reputation in the communities we serve including relationships with community/civic groups, non-profit organizations and local government and maintain strong relationships with internal team members as well as external stakeholders. Serve as subject matter expert and provides leadership and guidance to internal team members about Community Development programs and processes. May be requested to prepare communication materials about Community Relations and community development activities for internal and external distribution.
Leveraging a One Wells Fargo market leadership approach, the individual will have leadership and responsibility for the following:
- Mobilize One Wells Fargo resources to maximize market leadership, team member engagement, and strategic investments to generate impactful community solutions
- Execute on enterprise-wide community programs and initiatives to promote and enhance the well-being of the communities we serve; financial education, Housing Foundation, Small Business, Environment
- Develop and maintain relationships with key community nonprofits, government agencies and elected officials as well as internal One Wells Fargo leaders and partners in Community Relations, Corporate Communications, Marketing, Government Relations, Strategic Partnerships, Risk/Compliance, Community Lending and Investment and the Wells Fargo Housing Foundation
- Lead and advise One Wells Fargo leadership on issues and opportunities related to community leadership impacting Wells Fargo's brand and reputation, while executing key partner contact strategies
- Assist with community service activities and be a visible senior representative of Wells Fargo in the community, supporting ongoing monitoring and evaluation of community outreach partnerships and the impact of Wells Fargo community investments
- Contribute to the company's OCC Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) exam rating by ensuring that loans, investments and services support the credit needs of low-to-moderate income (LMI) individuals and communities
- Assesses community needs and provides management with program improvement recommendations
- Tell the Wells Fargo story by promoting a positive image and communicating the impact of community leadership and team member engagement in our communities. Specific duties will include: coordinating key check presentations, executive advocacy, attending industry events, representing the company and Community Relations on internal and external committees
- Provide leadership and support in the facilitation of the regional Market Reputation Council
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of community relations experience
- 1+ year of leadership or project management
Other Desired Qualifications
- 7+ years' demonstrated experience and a successful progression in community relations, community development and/or non-profit experience
- Knowledge of or experience building relationships in the nonprofit community in the SF Bay Area
- Experience with data analysis and leveraging technology to drive community engagement
- Reputation management experience
- Experience creating strategic plans for programs and/or community development projects
- Experience developing and evaluating impact metrics, and program reports and conducting data analysis
- Experience presenting information in a manner that influences, educates, and enhances understanding at all levels
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
