Position Title: Chemist

Pay Rate: $38.50/hr Max Pay Rate

Start Date: ASAP

Assignment Length: Temp to Perm

Estimated hours per week: 40 hours + Overtime as needed

Work Schedule: M-F 8am - 5pm

Location: Mt. Bethel, PA 18343

Job Description:

Our Lab specializes in a wide variety of measurements including QC/QA, Failure Analysis and R&D support. We utilize a large number of techniques for this work including GC-TCD, IC and ICP-MS. The Chemist will work in an exciting, fast-paced and dynamic environment and be part of an enthusiastic team passionate about providing quality data and answers to our customers in a timely manner. This individual will be responsible for running routine samples by ICP-MS, performing analytical validations and performing instrument maintenance. The chosen candidate must like running routine QC/QA work

Job Responsibilities

  • Assisting developing new analytical methods to improve the products and services provided to customers
  • Capable of repairing instruments
  • Perform preventative maintenance on different types of instrumentation
  • Perform non-routine sampling at client's facility as assigned and complete all other additional assignments as required
  • Provide technical training to other chemists, laboratory technicians, and service technicians
  • Responsible for evaluation, interpretation, verification of analytical data
  • Review data
  • Send Routine Reports
  • Purchases routine lab supplies and reagents
  • Willingly serves on Safety, 5s and other committees.
  • Complies with the established Quality System and reports quality deficiencies
  • Ensure accuracy and consistency of data
  • Ensures proper data entry of analysis results
  • Limited customer communication
  • Maintains records for instrument calibrations and preventative maintenance
  • Operate and maintain assign lab instruments
  • Performs routine and limited non-routine analyses and other lab procedures as required
  • Prepare required reagents and standards
  • Retrieve, move and connect/disconnect cylinders for the purpose of analysis
  • Administer safe laboratory practices, and keep all related safety trainings up to date
  • Good problem solving skills, innovative and resourceful
  • Proficient in computer skills such as LIMS, Pilgrim, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Requirements

  • BS in Chemistry or Similar Science with 1-3 years experience OR
  • MS in Chemistry or Similar Science with 0-2 years experience
