Position Title: Lab Technician
Pay Rate: $21.00/Hr W2
Start Date: ASAP
Estimated hours per week: 40 hours
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday
Location: Fremont, CA 94538

Job Description:

• Sample log-in into the data management system in a timely and accurate manner.
• Help chemists in sample preparation - unpackaging, lifting and repackaging parts.
• Help in Standard preparations.
• Enter results into data management systems.
• Cleaning Teflon dishes and tubes.
• Sample disposal and waste compilation.
• Sample packaging and return
• Help implement 5S in the laboratories and work spaces.
• Work safely at all times and ensure a safety culture and safe working environment in the laboratory.
• Sample login, tracking, and returns using a LIMS system
• Sample transfers between different laboratories
• Sample kit preparation and inventory management
• Sample preparation for organic analyses in chemical fume hoods and glove books
• Routine analysis using various methods
• Enter test results into LIMS in a timely and accurate manner
• Sample waste consolidation and disposal
  

Job Requirements:

• Capable of learning, understanding and following SOPs to perform assigned duties.

• Ability to understand and follow safe handling procedures for hazardous chemicals.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with other employees.
• Must have initiative and be self-motivated.
• Good verbal and written skills.
• Good organizational skills.
• Ability to work under time pressure.
• Ability to change plans and work environment on short notice.
• Must be able to lift 50lb loads with the help of coworkers.

Educational Requirements:

• Preferred 1-2 years industrial laboratory experience with HS Diploma
• 0 years' experience with Associates Degree in Chemistry or Similar Science
