Job description

Bank in Irvine is looking for an Assistant Controller to join their team. The Assistant Controller will be responsible for core bank accounting and reporting functions, developing and implementing bank policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with accounting and regulatory rules, and supervising the accounting and reporting team.


Some of the responsibilities include:

  • Oversees accounting functions and staff
  • Prepares and/or reviews financial statements
  • Prepares quarterly call reports and other regulatory filings
  • Directs disbursements and expenditures for capital purchases
  • Works with auditors/examiners on year-end audit, internal audits, and periodic examinations
  • Provides safekeeping, control and accounting for assets and securities
  • Reviews operational procedures to obtain optimum efficiency and reduced costs
  • Develops strong new business relationships with vendors and maintains relationships with various existing vendors.


Qualifications for this role:

  • 7-10 years of progressive accounting experience
  • Experience working at a public accounting firm (preferably BIG4 or mid-tier)
  • Active CPA is required
  • Direct banking industry is required
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
