Job description

General Summary:

This position is responsible for ensuring accurate processing and recording of the company's payroll and providing clerical support to the Human Resources Department.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Process semi-monthly company payrolls for all Alleviate companies
  • Process and monitor garnishment orders and other issues that impact payroll specifications
  • Maintain and document all payroll records (PTO, wages)
  • Conduct semi-annual audits of all payroll records
  • Reconcile general ledger with regard to payroll transactions
  • Detect and process issues related to uncollected payroll
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll issues or concerns
  • Process all transactions within payroll system including but not limited to:
  • Entering new employees
  • Terminating employees
  • Updating status
  • Processing pay/wage changes
  • Assist HR Department with employee onboarding
  • Assist HR Department with HR functions (hiring, terminations, personnel changes)
  • Provide clerical support to HR Department


OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES/NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Crosstrain and develop HR foundation
  • Continuously improve through feedback
  • Occasional errands due to department need (ie; FedEx drop off, supply pick up)
  • Attend training and department (external and internal) meetings
  • Respond to employment verifications
  • Other duties as assigned


JOB SPECIFICATIONS: (Knowledge, skills, abilities and experience normally required for competent performance)

Knowledge and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree with minimum 2 years of payroll processing experience working with CA employees
  • HS Diploma/GED accepted with 3+ years of payroll processing or similar experience

  • N/A

Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skillsExcellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Understanding of basic payroll processing tasks & processes
  • Understanding of payroll compliance and legal guidelines
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Excellent communication and follow through
  • Excellent payroll mathematical skills
  • Knowledge of G-Suite (G-mail, Google Calendar, Google Drive)
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Suite
  • Ability to work with E-signature platforms

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5 years of experience processing payroll
  • Experience in PEO environment, knowledge of PEO Processes
  • Experience with ADP TotalSource PEO
  • Experience with 100+ employee headcount
  • Experience processing multiple payrolls per month under one parent company
  • Multi-state experience

Pay - $20/hr - $30/hr
