Job description

Well-established global consumer products company near John Wayne Airport has an immediate need for a Senior Financial Analyst.


** Qualified candidates must be local to Southern California. The role is a hybrid with the candidate going into the office 2-3 times per week ***


$90-110K plus 5-10% bonus


* We are seeking candidates local to the Southern California area or with immediate plans to relocate only *



The main keys are:


  • Looking for a 3-5 year+ analyst with the intelligence and work ethic to be promoted quickly
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills due to the exposure to senior management
  • Solid budgeting/forecasting/modeling experience
  • Strong Excel skills



Position Summary

The purpose of this role is to partner with Sales and Operations in order to provide value-added information that will help grow the company. S/he will be charged with understanding all facets of our business and have exposure to the entire P&L. This is a highly visible position in a fast-paced environment and provides an excellent opportunity for a driven individual to deliver value and make an impact.



Accountabilities


  • Provide financial analysis and decision support to CFO, Sales, Operations, and other internal customers
  • Challenge status quo and improve financial and accounting processes
  • Complete Month End reporting and analysis
  • Participate in Strat Plan, Forecast and Annual Budget process
  • Analyze and audit sales opportunities and capital projects
  • Provide business case support and complete ad-hoc projects & tasks


Qualifications


  • Motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently with minimal direction
  • Proven track record of improving financial and accounting processes
  • Working knowledge of fundamental accounting principles such as accruals, revenue and expense recognition, capitalization, depreciation, and lease accounting
  • Capital budgeting experience with a complete understanding of NPV, IRR and Payback
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and financial modeling skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated communication skills in a team and cross functional environment
  • High analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Bachelor's Degree in a business-related discipline from an accredited university; MBA/CPA preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a financial analyst role
