**Job Responsibilities:**
Title examiners search public records and examine titles to determine a property title's legal condition. They copy or summarize recorded documents affecting title to property, such as mortgages, trust deeds and agreements. They also do a final write -up to issue a preliminary title report that guarantees the title's legality. Summarize pertinent legal or insurance details, sections of statutes or case law from reference books for examination, proof or ready reference. Search out titles to determine if the title deed chain is correct. Title examiners must have good research and investigation skills and understand legal terms. Must be aware of new legal developments that affect their duties. These occupations usually involve using communication and organizational skills to coordinate, supervise, manage or train upcoming searchers to accomplish goals. As lead person to make decisions on production matters as production manager designates.
**Job Requirements:**
High School Diploma, GED or equivalent work experience required. Excellent verbal/written skills and attention to detail a must. Strong interpersonal skills are required. Superior telephone skills. Must be able to prioritize according to departmental guidelines. Must have high level of organization. Must have ability to consistently meet deadlines, demonstrate strong follow through, and to follow departmental procedures. Basic computer skills, Outlook, Word, Acrobat, Titlepoint, Datatrace. Read and understand basic legal descriptions. Read and understand assessor, tract, parcel, subdivision, record of survey and any general land maps or surveys. Understanding of general title process and related documentation. Understanding of recorded documents and their effect upon title. Ability to operate various types of office equipment, i.e. scanner, printer, uploading. Title Experience preferred.
