Overview

Our client' s Systems and Technology team supports Television Production for the company. They are seeking an experienced Business Systems Analyst to join their team. We are looking for someone who can learn new subject matter quickly, is able to work both independently and as part of a team and has the drive to deliver for our business partners. You will be expected to assess potential impacts, gather requirements, analyze options, and communicate your recommendations to business users and project managers.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the definition of project scope, objectives, timelines, and overall approach
  • Facilitate the review and prioritization of the user request backlog
  • Provide input into project status reporting
  • Identify and report project risk and issues
  • Learn and understand the business processes of the system users
  • Understand the structure and business use of existing software as well as how various software systems interface and interface
  • Collect, review, analyze, evaluate, and prioritize business and system requirements from business users
  • Abstract new requirements and create functional design specifications of enhancements to fulfill their requirements
  • Effectively communicate the functional design to the business users and obtaining their approval.
This include working with a UI specialist to develop working prototypes.
  • Document business requirements, process flows, software specifications, and enter tickets using Jira
  • Serve as a liaison between the business users and technical teams
  • Communicate business requirements and software specifications to the IT development team, assist them in understanding the requirements
  • Ensure that the completed software meets or exceeds business users' requirements and expectations
  • Develop user acceptance test plans and scenarios
  • Conduct testing and guide user acceptance testing
  • Create training materials and deliver training
Preferred Skills
  • Communication with both technical and non-technical users
  • Technical background such as Developer, DBA etc.
  • Data analysis including developing spreadsheet models to support recommendations/ conclusions
  • Process design, process flows, mapping
  • Ability to present deliverables to an audience
  • Work independently and/or collaboratively, manage daily workflow
  • Excellent work ethic and ability to meet deadlines
  • Proficiency in Office 365 especially Excel and PowerPoint; as well as flowcharting software (e.g., MS Visio)
Requirements for the Role
  • Bachelor' s Degree in business, accounting, or related fields
  • 10+ years of working experience working as a business analyst on projects and / or support
  • Expertise in MS Office Suite including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Visio
  • Expertise in process design and documentation
  • Experience in the Media & Entertainment industry, studio preferred
  • Knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP or PeopleSoft
  • Experience with Agile methodology and associated tools like Jira, MS Azure DevOps, Asana, etc.
  • The ability to multitask and take on varied responsibilities as appropriate to specific assignments
