Job Description

Title: Senior Product Owner
Location: Remote
Contract: 6 months to start, extend to 12+ month

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Drive product strategy and prioritization by analyzing customer needs.
  • Lead meetings with cross-functional stakeholders to gather business requirements; communicate possible solution options and drive teams to consensus.
  • Prioritize and maintain product backlog.
  • Manage product roadmap.
  • Translate product roadmap features into detailed documentation covering functional specifications, process flow diagrams, user stories, and acceptance test criteria.
  • Engage in all stages of product creation including design and development.
  • Participate in scrum meetings and product development sprints.
  • Ensure all requests are accurately captured, prioritized, and correctly built to user requirements.
  • Maintain and communicate weekly status updates to cross functional teams.
  • Demo new product features to stakeholders, provide documentation, and conduct User Acceptance Testing sessions.
  • Deeply understand the technology stack and overall system architecture and leverage that information to make the correct product decisions and tradeoffs between feasibility, scope of work, and user needs.
  • Define important metrics and analyze performance that inform success and opportunities.
  • Identify market opportunities and define product vision and strategy.


Education:
  • BA/BS degree preferred


Experience:
  • 7+ years of experience in product management developing, launching, and supporting consumer-facing software products and SaaS commercial business applications.
  • Experience working directly with customers.
  • Experience building partnerships across multiple cross-functional groups (Executive management, Legal, Marketing, Engineering)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project, Jira, Confluence, and related tools for building detailed
  • documentation.
  • Experience with market and user research.
  • Strong understanding of APIs and integrations.
  • Experience working independently, without significant manager involvement.
  • Should manage own time and work well both independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to multi-task and work well in a fast-paced environment and excited to relentlessly solve many technical challenges.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.


Big Plus:
  • Background in computer science or related technology development.
  • Experience as a developer, business systems analyst, and/or QA.
