About us.

Made In Katana (MIK) is a Creative Studio bringing brands to life through storytelling and emerging technology. We are looking for an ambitious Business Development Manager who enjoys building brand relationships and seeking new opportunities.

MIK is made up of designers, audio engineers, copywriters, developers and social experts - we are an ambitious bunch and ready to sink our teeth into the US. Our HQ is in Sydney, Australia - with team members located in Europe and Singapore. Our clients include Spotify, Sony Music, Paramount Pictures and Chupa Chups.

About you.

As one of our first boots on the ground in the US you will be crucial to MIK-LA's success. You're not afraid to roll your sleeves up and get your hands dirty. You're proactive and have a passion for working with teams who excel at visual storytelling.

Your duties will include:

  • Identifying, researching & securing business opportunities with new and existing clients
  • Managing & maintaining (or retaining) relationships with existing clientele
  • Creating and growing critical client and vendor relationships
  • (Responsible for Sales & Business Development Targets - across leads & opportunities?)
  • Sound ability in managing multiple pitches and projects at the same time
  • Act as the first point of contact for outbound and inbound new business
  • Representing MIK at industry events
  • Proactively build connections with key industry players
  • Maintaining MIKs quality and brand integrity
  • Working collaboratively with our Australian-based creative teams
  • Ability to ideate and pitch directly to clients - both creatively & strategically
  • Ensuring MIK is connected with local and international cultural trends
  • Working across multiple time zones
  • Scoping and quoting projects and ensuring that all projects are profitable and achievable within the allocated time frame
  • Ensuring MIKs US operations align with the Company's culture and values
  • Strategically managing external and internal stakeholders


Requirements

Who we are looking for:
  • 5+ years of agency experience
  • Someone with an existing network of connections and relationships within the US entertainment & consumer industry
  • A proactive self-starter with the ability to work autonomously
  • Outstanding verbal and written communications skills
  • Someone who has the ability to build strong working relationships with internal stakeholder
