Job description

Alliance Resource Group has partnered with a real estate investment management firm seeking a high caliber Controller for their growing business. This company has roughly $1BN AUM and has strategic partners/investors at the private and institutional level. The focus is within multi-family, affordable, and residential. This will be a very strategic hire with an opportunity for growth internally.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee all accounting operation such as: cost accounting, quality control, financial reporting, financial transactions, etc.
• Prepare investor reporting, investments base on fair market value, forecasting, and more.
• Manage, analyze, and develop processes for best practice accounting policies that strengthen internal controls and in adherence to GAAP.
• Prepare all financial statements on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
• Prepare journal entries.
• Reconcile GL accounts, bank accounts, and investment statements.
• Manage and prepare operating budgets and financial forecasts for company.
• Work with outside CPA firm for preparation of annual tax return.
• Manage company insurance policy and corporate insurance policy.
• Monitor daily cash reports and funding balance.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting.
• 10 years of experience as a financial controller working with: job costing, GL, budgeting & forecasting, etc.
• Strong experience with fair market value analysis.
• Yardi experience.
• CPA is highly desirable.
• Real estate and accounting experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Power Point, etc.)
• Excellent written, verbal and communication skills.
