Job description
Employee-owned Kitchell has an exciting opportunity for a Project Coordinator / Project Accountant to join our team in Los Angeles and build a long-term career at one of the most innovative and growth-oriented building companies in the United States.
Responsibilities
- Provides administration and documentation support that includes the organization of file systems and related project data in Procore
- Maintains regular (monthly) reports and metrics as required by the construction management team and/or the Client
- Participate in construction start-up and jobsite meetings with contractors and develop meeting minutes for CM review
- Help maintain the financial controls of the projects
- Maintains mailing lists, lead tracking, specialized data, and database systems and coordinates for periodic updates
- Assists staff with copying and distribution of project related materials such as submittals, shop drawings, RFIs and other project or corporate documents
- Assist with procuring contract-required guarantees, warranties, O&M manuals, record drawings, spare parts, keys, etc. from contractor and delivering to owner
- Coordinate final inspection, the development and resolution of punch lists, and the shop drawing/submittal review and approval process
- Assists in maintaining of all necessary record-keeping activities and organization of project specific materials and correspondence in both hard and digital form in Procore
- Assists in maintaining the correct resources of periodicals, library, and technical resource information according to company or project requirements
- Eagerness to advance your career path in the Construction Management field
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Construction Management, or related field is strongly preferred
- 4 or more years of technical Administrative/Document Control support experience in a construction setting is preferred
- Knowledge of Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable processing is strongly preferred
- The ability to provide interpersonal and effective communications via email is required
- Capable use of English grammar, proofreading/editing and spelling is required
- Advanced computer skills and familiarity with the Microsoft Office Suite of products is required
- Project documentation software experience is preferred (i.e. Procore)
- Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality is required
- Flexibility and willingness to adapt to changing work environments
Work Environment
This is a safety sensitive position. While performing the duties of this job, the employee must regularly work in an office and occasionally work in a construction environment. Conditions occasionally include exposure to outdoor elements, hot/cold temperatures, wet conditions, noise, atmospheric conditions and cramped quarters. The noise level in the work environment is regularly moderate and occasionally loud.
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to regularly sit, talk or hear and use hands to finger, feel and handle; frequently stand, walk and reach with hands and arms; occasionally climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Must frequently lift and or move 5 pounds and occasionally lift and or move up to 20 pounds.
