Job description

SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for maintaining existing and recommending new credit facilities while managing a portfolio of existing client relationships and business development that leads to acquisition of new bank clients.


DAY-TO-DAY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manages own portfolio of Middle Market borrowing accounts.
  • Works with middle market team to generate credit and non-credit opportunities in the market through cultivation of prospects, and networking with referral sources.
  • Structures or restructures credit facilities to ensure optimum balance between customer and bank interests while remaining within bounds of prudent banking and approved credit policy and practice.
  • Executes transactions quickly and efficiently.
  • Proactively identifies and manages deteriorating credit situations.
  • Presents new and existing credits to Credit Committee of Senior Bank Management for approval or modification.
  • Demonstrates credit and non-credit product knowledge.
  • Supports other lines of business by cross-selling the banks products and services.
  • Effectively manages competing priorities, strategically aligning efforts and activities to meet goals and objectives.
  • Employs market/competitor awareness in relationship communication and business development opportunities.
  • Perform other duties, as assigned, which fall within scope of responsibility.


QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED:

Knowledge:

  • Demonstrated ability to attract and retain new clients, develop customer relationships and cultivate referral sources.
  • Strong credit and financial analysis skills.
  • Knowledge of the competitive arena with established industry-wide contacts.


Technical Skills:

  • Employs market/competitor awareness in relationship communication and business development opportunities.
  • System & Technology Use: Displays working knowledge of system; Navigates systems quickly and accurately; Accesses data efficiently.
  • Able to use job-specific software.

Experience Needed: Middle Market Banking experience including lending and business development.

Education Required: Business Degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting or related discipline required; MBA preferable.
