Job description

Research Librarian - for top tier law firm.

This position can be located in Los Angeles, San Francisco or Palo Alto, CA. Candidate will conduct complex legal and non-legal research using online and print resources.

**Ideal candidate has conflicts research assistant/specialist or market research experience at a law firm or professional services firm, plus a Bachelor's degree.

**Interviews and work are remote during COVID shutdown. This can be a hybrid position after office reopens.

Responsibilities:
Supports lawyers, law clerks, paralegals, and staff in all offices with research queries and strategy. Track case dockets using a variety of resources (e.g., Westlaw, CourtLink, etc.) and coordinate document retrieval. Regular monitoring of targeted news; legislative and regulatory developments. Process interlibrary loan and document delivery requests. Develop/update the library's Intranet resources for all offices including development of guides to collection and subject bibliographies on topics of current interest. Provide training assistance in using electronic resources to lawyers, paralegals, and staff. Use workflow software to track/process research requests.

Position Requirements

MLS from an accredited graduate program and/or JD from an accredited law school preferred, not required. Must have at least 1 year of experience as research librarian, conflicts or market research in a large law firm or professional services firm. Demonstrated proficiency with legal/nonlegal online resources such as Westlaw, Lexis, Bloomberg, PACER, and other general and topical sources - specifically for securities, corporate, intellectual property, legislative, and public records information. Ability to analyze and synthesize information and apply critical/creative thinking to develop solutions to complex problems. Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, and ability to work well under pressure. Ability to coordinate and perform multiple activities simultaneously. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other modern law firm productivity software tools.

Salary is commensurate with experience.
