The Senior Business Development Manager (BDM) will lead their team in building an internal and external network, assist in identifying new target clients, follow through on leads and enable client success. The Senior BDM focuses on winning new development, licensing, and commercial manufacturing projects.

Responsibilities

  • Lead 2 Business Development Executives (BDE) through role model leadership, proactive performance management, coaching and focused engagement.
  • Also, develop new business opportunities with key accounts that you manage directly by identifying Rx new molecule, Rx generic, OTC and private label softgel opportunities.
  • Work closely with facility and BU leadership to build an effective sales strategy and help develop marketing actions that support sales growth.
  • Create, present and execute sales programs for prospective and existing clients that promote our Pharma Services offerings, value proposition and key differentiators from our competition.
  • Ensure active pipeline growth and management including targeted prospecting activities in conjunction with marketing lead generation programs and with other PSG business development teams.
  • Enable winning quotations and play a key role in the successful negotiation of agreements.
  • Enable compliance with all relevant activities including the SalesForce.com database. Share information on prospective clients within the territory to stakeholders.
  • Provide oversight of accurate quarterly revenue forecasts and budget related to new business at each customer and take strategic action.
  • Facilitate employee development including defining annual goals, objectives within assigned territories, targets, and career development activities.

Requirements
  • 10+ years' experience in sales with a consistent track record of above plan performance selling related finished dosage services within the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Successful leadership experience in a growing business climate, leading a diverse team across a broad territory. Namely, North America and Europe.
  • Established contacts in major and growing Pharmaceutical and Consumer Healthcare organizations.
  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in a science field and/or business administration.
  • Professional presentation skills and ability to network within senior management ranks.
  • Preferred home office location is along the East Coast near a major airport with 50% expected travel.
