Retirement & Personal Wealth Solutions (RPWS) serves the core financial needs of individual clients and plan participants by providing best in class, integrated products in the most intuitive, efficient and client friendly way while maintaining a forward thinking mindset and risk management focus. RPWS is responsible for both the institutional and personal retirement capability set to include 401(k), Equity and Health Benefit plans for companies of all sizes as well as college savings, personal retirement planning, retirement income, insurance and estate planning for individuals. RPWS also provides tools and content that enables advisors and bankers to help their client's live their best financial lives.
Job Description:
Leveraging industry leading tools, resources and services, the Wealth Strategist works with a defined group of Advisors to lead clients through a comprehensive Wealth Impact Planning engagement designed to help clients protect, preserve and control their wealth. The Wealth Strategist addresses estate planning essentials, the role of trusts, lifetime giving, legacy planning, and philanthropic planning. Additionally the Wealth Strategist leads Advisors and clients through all aspects of implementation leveraging Bank of America trust solutions. The Wealth Strategist is focused on engaging with clients in the $5 million plus wealth segment and delivers Bank of America fiduciary products and services to meet or exceed assigned production and referral goals.
The role involves minimal travel with a tight focus on concentrated advisor segments and leverages virtual client engagements. The Wealth Strategist reports directly to a Division Performance Executive.
Wealth Strategist Responsibilities:
Raise awareness on the importance of Wealth Impact Planning in delivering a comprehensive Wealth Management experience leveraging Bank of America thought leadership, digital capabilities, planning tools and resources.
Proactively identify and continuously pursue Wealth Impact Planning opportunities through in-depth client and prospect business reviews with Advisors, focused on the $5 million plus wealth segment
Lead meetings and presentations with Advisors, clients, prospects, tax and legal advisors on Wealth Impact Planning techniques and how Bank of America Trust Services aids in successful implementation.
Support the creation of personalized solutions for clients and prospects specifically addressing all aspects of Wealth Impact Planning (Estate Planning Essentials, the Role of Trusts, Lifetime Giving, Legacy Planning, Personal Philanthropy and Fiduciary Solutions) leveraging Wealth Impact Planning tools and resources.
Facilitate the integrated and holistic delivery of Wealth Impact Planning strategies with a focus on how Bank of America Trust Services support implementation.
Leverage Wealth Impact Planning and Trust Services to aid in client acquisition and retention efforts.
Work in partnership with Advisors, clients, attorneys, accountants, and Bank of America fiduciary acceptance, administration and investment partners to deliver a seamless client implementation and onboarding experience.
Wealth Strategist Skills Inventory:
Knowledge of multiple aspects of Wealth Impact Planning and implementation including: property law, estate and gift taxes, planning for incapacity, probate and estate settlement, split interest trusts and charitable giving, fiduciary duties, accounting and taxes, sophisticated retirement planning, fiduciary investing and administration.
Ability to translate and communicate complex concepts and strategies to varied audiences (clients, advisors, attorneys, accountants, internal partners).
Proactive and creative approach to problem solving and skill in achieving client goals while adhering to Bank policy/risk profile.
Consultative influence skills with strong active listening and discovery abilities.
Professional presentation, communication, and relationship management skills and ability to influence decision making
Collaborative and able to work well in a team environment.
Self-starter with ability to work under pressure with minimal hands on direction.
Wealth Strategist Qualifications
5 years of wealth planning related work experience (wealth transfer, financial planning, trust planning and/or experience working with high net worth and ultra-high net worth clients).
Proven track record of successful sales experience working with high net worth and ultra-high net worth clients.
JD, CPA, MBA, CFA, CIMA, CTFA or CFP preferred.
Within Merrill Lynch Wealth Management and Merrill Private Wealth, the SIE, Series 7 & Series 66 is required; Series 63 & 65 accepted in lieu of 66. Unlicensed candidates are provided time to obtain licenses through our training program per compliance guidelines
