Our Strategy team is looking to accelerate Pure's innovation and growth engine to an even higher level. The team has the unique responsibility of helping the executive leadership team and Business Unit GMs with plans for the next wave of strategic bets. We are looking for an experienced results-oriented executive to join us on this mission. This will be an incredible opportunity for a proven leader with a demonstrated track record of driving strategy and company-wide, cross-functional initiatives at a tech company.
This role will report directly to the Chief Corporate Development & Strategy Officer and work alongside the M&A team and Strategic Planning group (which also reports to the Chief Strategy Officer). The role will provide significant interaction and influence across the Executive Leadership team, particularly with the Business GMs, CFO, and CEO. A successful leader in this role must drive for results with integrity, seek stakeholder-focused solutions, and bring a balance to long- and short-term priorities. The person must be able to work in a collaborative environment; be a self-starter and feel comfortable in an ambiguous, constantly evolving, fast-moving environment of shared accountability.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead key strategic projects internally that have company-wide implications on the various business units and their own unique strategies
- Drive & utilize strategic analysis and insights into our market opportunities within existing and potential new markets
- Support M&A strategy and business case formation
- Work closely with Strategic Planning team on annual strategic planning process and long-range plan
- Be a thought leader and influencer at the senior most levels within Pure
- Lead projects that can range from market expansion strategies, to M&A and partnership evaluations, to cross functional initiatives
- Drive continuous engagement with the executive leadership team on strategy review and iteration
- Analyze industry trends, competitive threats, expansion opportunities and internal performance
- Deliver analytically rigorous and data-driven insights to support actionable strategic recommendations, business prioritization, and company-wide strategy communications
- Simultaneously manage multiple initiatives on strategy and planning
- Demonstrable leadership and influencing skills in a team setting, including extended teams where members are often not direct reports
- Map and build points-of-view on the Storage, SaaS and Infrastructure market and its adjacencies, assessing each of its segment's TAMs, growth rates and strategic potential for Pure's entry or expansion
