This position requires an experienced professional with the ability to plan the logistics requirements to support Inbound Materials and Finished Vehicle Distribution. The successful candidate will have spent considerable time launching new plants and/or new products in an automotive manufacturing environment. This position requires partnership with Supply Chain, QA/QC, Manufacturing, Packaging, Engineering, Finance, and Regulatory Affairs to implement new processes and manage changes. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate excellence in their respective fields, to possess the ability to learn quickly and to strive for perfection within a fast-paced environment.You Will:Continuously optimize the logistics network, conduct scenario analysis and identify opportunities across the network to optimize for speed (capacity), cost (total logistics expense) and quality (on-time delivery).Work cross functionally to collect, validate and update inputs to run multiple simulation models across the supply chain.Work with local and regional operations teams to understand real world constraints.Be proactive in highlighting opportunities to enhance operational efficiency and continuous improvement.Effectively communicates with key decision-makers and senior leadership on capacity planning issues including people, resources, and risks.Comprehends disruptions in the network and communicates action plans and impacts to stakeholders.Use data to perform in-depth analysis as needed to support decision making and drive Logistics strategyConduct varying ad-hoc projects as the business requires.Develop, communicate and execute KPIs; lead team to meet goals and develop countermeasures when falling short of planSearch for opportunities to continuously improve operational execution and profitability; focus on accountabilities, growth opportunities and trends to provide year-over-year improvement of KPI measurementDrive planning for adequate finished vehicle carrier capacity and storage space to keep pace with volume growthIdentify near-term opportunities within the current network that can reduce waste and drive valueDetermine the optimal flow of product from sources into, and within, the distribution network and to customersAnalyze and determine best transportation solutions globally, including systems and processesConduct/lead business process analysis to understand the needs of the transportation organization and enterprise ultimately translating those needs into clear specifications for key stakeholdersParticipation in planning sessions with internal departments to validate requirements and processesPartner with key functional groups that are part of implementation (HR, IT, Manufacturing, etc.) to develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's)Anticipate challenges and disruptions to transportation flow and design mitigation strategiesDrive site specific requirements at Ports, Rail yards, Hubs, etc. to support the most efficient logistics operations possibleDefine and develop Finished Vehicle logistics solutions that optimize speed, cost and qualityDefine and drive development and implementation of needed processes and systemsWork with Internal Customers to optimize and meet requirements (Sales, Delivery, Marketing, Engineering)Participate in carrier management processes, such as selection, qualification, and performance evaluationDesign models for use in evaluating logistics programs or servicesCollaborate with other departments to integrate logistics with business systems or processesAnalyze the financial impact of proposed logistics changes, such as routing, shipping modes, product volumes or mixes, or carriersParticipate in negotiations with suppliers or internal customers to improve supply chain efficiency or sustainabilityYou Bring:7+ years relevant experience with automotive logistics, transportation, and global trade process and procedures, preferably in a high-volume environment2+ years of related automotive industry experience and LEAN manufacturing2+ years direct leadership experienceStrong knowledge of multi-modal logistics pricing models (air, rail, truck, ocean, customs brokerage)Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with success in working across organizations at all levels.Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects, effective project planning in terms of resources, strategies, cost, and time with ability to meet project timelines.Strong computer proficiency in MS Office applicationsExperience with TMS software applicationsEducation Requirements:Bachelor's Degree preferred in Supply Chain, Logistics Engineering, or related field.
