RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The Software Project Manager plays a central role throughout the different phases of product development. This position is part of a team responsible for planning and managing SW deliverables that go into already released products and products that are still under development.
  • The SPM will work closely with Marketing, System Engineering and Service Engineering teams on feature definitions and priority setting.
  • The SPM will work closely with SW development team and SQA team on translating the system level feature requirements into SW Requirement Specifications and SW Design
  • Descriptions, which would form the basis of the SW development schedule. The SPM would then work closely with the Program Manager of the affected products on feature richness vs. time to market trade-offs. Once the schedule is finalized, the SPM will conduct frequent review of the development progress, especially those tasks on the project critical path, help the SW development team to stay on schedule. In case of schedule slip, the SPM should work with SW development team on a recovery plan and/or feature set vs. time-to-market trade-off options.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS REGARDING RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Follow a project management method to initiate, plan, execute, control and close out projects.
  • Work on small, medium, and large projects and covering a wide range of solutions including, but not limited to SW development, package implementation and application integration.
  • Resolve inconsistencies between SW components, identify high-risk areas, and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Communicates project status and escalates issues to direct managers, program managers and internal and external development partners.
  • Utilize strong communication skills, analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to interact with all levels within the company to prioritize multiple concurrent projects.
  • Effectively measure success by developing of metrics and reports as well as present the results to senior management.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 5 years' experience in project management as it relates to software development.
  • Extensive knowledge of software development life cycle (SDLC) as well as advanced project management skills including time and risk management, resource prioritization and project structuring.
  • Have ability to set clear expectations and manage team performance.
  • Strong prioritization skills
  • Ability to manage complex products and teams.
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodology
  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Scientific discipline
