Job description
Job Summary
Oversee complex customer presentations, implementations, and cost reduction initiatives. Focus given to revenue growth and operational effectiveness. Provide leadership to a team of associates in the form of coordinating daily activities, providing direction, and offering support and guidance in the functional areas related to outsourced service solutions such as: shipping, receiving, inventory management, chemical tracking, warehousing, glass wash, purchasing, desk top delivery, lab support services. Responsible for one or more customers in multiple states, GxP, as well as asset management, scientific services and collaboration with field sales team. Manage a team within a discipline or department, typically comprised of career/intermediate professionals or Supervisors.
- Supports Research Operations Division leader in scheduling planning, implementation, documentation, execution and follow-up related to laboratory initiatives.
- Prioritize and manage projects in alignment with business needs and partner priorities to ensure objectives and deliverables are achieved in a timely manner and in accordance to Key Performance Indicators (KPIs);
- Communicates and collaborates with key stake holders, division personnel, facility personnel, vendors, and other strategic support groups to facilitate and ensure successful implementation and completion of projects.
- Knowledgeable and capable of working with key stakeholder groups to coordinate activities including service resource assessments, operational excellence, quality program development, performance Improvement and key performance indicator development
- Develops and maintains strong working relationships with other operating groups within EH&S, IT, Procurement, Supply Chain, Research, Clinical and Production.
- Motivate, develop and manage a team of lab support resources responsible for delivering on-time, high quality laboratory support services including QC lab support, safety services, inventory management, chemical management, freezer management, sample management and other value add laboratory support services.
- Set team vision and strategy for evaluating, scaling and optimizing workflows
- Lead initiative teams with cross-functional stakeholders to drive operational improvements and overall business strategies
- Provide decision-ready data to support harmonization of laboratory support services across multiple facilities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or above preferred but not required
- Project Management Professional certification preferred but not required
- Six Sigma Green or Blackbelt Certification preferred but not required
- Strong Computer and Communication Skills
- Experience with managing projects and process implementations across multiple teams and/or functions.
- 5+ years motivating, developing and managing teams in the laboratory space
