Job Summary
The Clinical Laboratory Scientist II supports the development and implementation of new diagnostic assays. Working independently under director's guidance, performs assay and equipment validation, authors standard operating procedure and develops training and competency documents and ensures quality and regulatory compliance.

Experience

* Required: Minimum one (1) year of Clinical Laboratory experience.

* Preferred: Three (3) years of Clinical Laboratory experience in flow cytometry. Experience with Nucleic acid extractions, manual and automated; RT-PCR, Taqman-based PCR; 96 well plate PCR and instrumentation.

Education

* Required: Bachelor degree - Biological Science.

Training

* Required: None required.

Specialized Skills

* Required: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; interpersonal relationship and collaboration skills. Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and organization skills; excellent critical thinking, judgment, and problem-solving skills. Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English effectively at a level appropriate for the safe and effective performance of the job. Proficient knowledge of computer systems and software used in functional area. Strong attention to detail, vigilance, poise, and composure in stressful situations.

Licensure

* Required: Clinical Lab Scientist - CA (CLS).

* Preferred: Am Society of Clin Pathology. Specialist in Cytometry (ASCP).
