Job description

WB Engineers+Consultants is a 150+ person consulting engineering practice headquartered in New York, NY with offices in Boston, MA; Washington DC; Denver, CO: Eastbay, CA; and Austin, TX. We are seeking fun, energetic, and creative employees to support our continued growth!

We are currently seeking to fill a position in Business Development in Eastbay, CA.


This position will require developing and maintaining client relationships, creating brand awareness, and engaging our local office leadership in business development efforts. This position will also be responsible for organizing, tracking, attending, and supporting regional and local industry events.


Qualified candidates must be a new client connector, internal relationship builder, a communicator, adaptable, flexible, and a team player with an appreciation to learn what we do and how we do it.


In addition, this position will work closely with our marketing/communications team in promoting WB opportunities, successes, and industry related information. Leveraging social media and communication platforms, with the intent of increasing brand awareness of who we are, why we're different, and demonstrating our core values.


Qualified candidates should have a degree in marketing, communications, or related business degree and solid references.


Preferred qualifications include experience as a business developer in the commercial real estate industry in Eastbay, Southbay, and San Francisco, specifically within the life science, mission critical, or energy market sectors. Our ideal candidate will have demonstrated business growth within previous positions.


Job Description:

  • Cultivate new client + market relationships to gain new opportunities, visibility, and brand recognition within the WB goal posts.
  • Lead in partnership with Eastbay leadership, the development, tracking, and driving of the Eastbay annual local business development plan.
  • Organize, drive, and support Eastbay leadership on local business development strategy and corporate initiatives.
  • Lead participation and attendance in local industry organizations and market events, including committee involvement (this may include evenings and weekends).
  • Lead local BD meetings outlining efforts by Eastbay leadership and staff, tracking progress, assigning action items, following up, coaching, and supporting staff with BD strategy.
  • Support and help develop corporate initiatives for cross national pursuits.
  • Organize and support events with clients, staff, and market professionals.
  • Organize lunch & learns, team introductions, and other client facing events/meetings.
  • Identify industry events and sponsorship opportunities to effectively market and increase market awareness of the WB brand.
  • Regularly meet with other BD team members across WB to share market intel, client updates, and project and pursuit feedback.
  • Closely collaborate with marketing/communications team to develop BD materials, spread the word on social media, coordinate lunch & learn presentations, provide debrief feedback and market insights.
