Job description
We are seeking an outstanding Research Associate to join the New Product Development team to support the development and commercial launch of new products. This is a unique cross-disciplinary position that will work closely with a variety of groups including Molecular Biology, Chemistry, Microfluidics, QC, and Manufacturing, to develop and validate novel reagents for the rapid expansion of product lines. Candidates must have a solid working knowledge of protein expression and purification as it applies to immunology and be able to apply that knowledge creatively and independently in a fast-paced work environment. Previous experience with refolding and purification of recombinant protein complexes or protein and antibody conjugation and purification is highly desirable. The successful applicant will have exceptional attention to detail and the ability to meticulously execute and analyze highly complex experiments.

Key Responsibilities
- Hands on in the production, purification, and quality control of protein conjugates, antibody conjugates, and protein complexes.
Required Skills and Background
- Bachelor's degree in Biology, Biochemistry, or related field with industry experience in recombinant protein production or protein conjugation and purification.
- Experience with protein characterization including SDS PAGE, Western Blot, FPLC, Mass Spectrometry, UV-VIS, and fluorometric analysis
- Hands-on experience with protein purification (using affinity and traditional chromatographic techniques) on AKTA chromatography purification workflows using Unicorn software packages.
- Basic understanding of antibody characterization and immunology
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
Desired Skills and Background
- Purification of recombinant expressed proteins
- Experience with in vitro refolding, purification, characterization, and scale-up production of proteins from E. coli inclusion bodies.
- Experience in GMP, GLP setting and good documentation practices preferred.
- Experience operating liquid handling robots and other laboratory automation tools. Experience programming these instruments would be highly beneficial.
