Kelly is hiring a Scientist III, Chemistry for one of our biotech clients in Pleasanton, CA.
- Temp to perm (conversion after 90 days)
- Pay: $32/hr
The Pleasanton Tech Ops is seeking an experienced and highly motivated scientist to work with a team in developing manufacturing processes for DNA/RNA/modified oligonucleotides. The candidate will have a strong understanding of nucleic acid chemistry, a broad understanding of instrumentation required for manufacturing processes, strong writing skills, and collaborate efficiently as part of a cross-functional team including manufacturing, R&D, and other cross-functional partners.
What will you do?
· Work closely with R&D, manufacturing, QA and product management to develop, launch new RUO and/or GMP products that meet manufacturing and customer needs.
· Assist with the creation/revision of IVDR procedures, forms and templates.
· Monitors and interprets IVDR regulations and guidelines and interacts with project teams to provide guidance to complete deliverables per established deadlines
· Manage multiple projects and initiatives concurrently to meet product as well as process release/transfer timelines.
· Lead, plan and design experimental methods to achieve technical objectives as well as identify and solve complex problems
· Research, design and implement experiments for future products and lead PPI efforts.
· Work with team to investigate trends, performs statistical analysis to analyze the trends, conduct root cause analysis, provide recommendation and implement corrective action for processes.
· Provide technical support via knowledge of principles and theories through familiarity with competing technologies and/or products and review of current scientific literature.
· Collaborate with departments across the organization to resolve technical issues and support products.
· Prepare and present written and oral reports to the manager, extended R&D teams, and senior leadership.
· Perform other responsibilities to support the needs of the department, as assigned.
· Interact with suppliers, operations, logistics, QA, EHS, and R&D
· Work with instruments that are used for oligonucleotide manufacturing such as oligonucleotide synthesizer, HPLC, MS, Spectrophotometer, PAGE, liquid handlers.
· Perform other responsibilities to support the needs of the department, as assigned.
· Maintain confidentiality of laboratory data and procedures
How will you get here?
· B.Sc degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related-discipline and 2+ years industrial experience in oligonucleotide chemistry.
· Ph.D. in organic or Biochemistry with oligonucleotide synthesis experience: or a B.S. or M.S. with a minimum of 4 years of related experience
· Experience in the manufacturing of oligonucleotides, their downstream processing and various QC methods to analyze them.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
· Proficient with instruments that are used for oligonucleotide manufacturing such as oligonucleotide synthesizers, HPLC, MS, Spectrophotometer, PAGE, liquid handlers.
· Proven understanding of reviewing/writing technical documents, risk assessment reports, validation documents, IOQ protocols and final reports
· Working knowledge of current FDA, IVDD and especially IVDR regulations.
· Understanding of cGMP regulation and quality management systems for medical devices operations
· Strong communication and presentation skills, both oral and written
· Strong interpersonal skills, coupled with attention to detail, excellent review skills and analytical skills
· Must have a strong ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
· Capable of multi-tasking and having strong time-management skills to meet a demanding work schedule is needed
