The Customer and Digital Organization is responsible for transforming the grocery experience by harnessing the power of digital technologies. We seek to offer customers an easy, exciting, and friendly ecommerce shopping experience through the invention of personalized and localized digital experiences for our 34 million plus weekly customers.

The Shopping Experience Department has an opening for a Senior Business Analyst, Category expansion in the catalog team. This position is located in Pleasanton, California.

Position Purpose

The Catalog team is responsible for the digital catalog serving product information to millions of customers throughout our ecosystem including on web, mobile social and 3rd party marketplaces. This team owns developing and leading the strategy to build the next generation Catalog Management Systems which will support the company's scale and vision around the omnichannel strategy. One of our key goals is to become a one stop shop for our customers food related needs. To achieve this goal, we are investing significantly in Selection expansion initiatives to drive new selection (e.g., local, ethnic) on Albertsons.

In this role, the Business analyst, Category expansion will be reporting to Director of Category Expansion. This position will focus on sizing new business opportunities, analyzing market, measuring feature impact, prioritization, quantitative analysis, AB experimentation.

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist with the creation of Status Reports, Executive Dashboards, and Business Insights
  • Assist with development of a Catalog ecosystem, ensuring alignment from strategic objectives to feature KPIs
  • Trending OKR and KPIs for performance and impact
  • Assist with executive and strategy decks to help guide the team with storytelling
  • Support the rollout of Agile Transformation feature preparation for quarterly planning; dependency alignment; and tracking of Catalog expansion programs
  • Creation of a Center of Excellence for Catalog programs and templates
  • Manage Communication Plan and ensure all prep is completed.
  • Support business analysis for selection expansion initiatives within the Catalog team


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Finance or related field and/or equivalent combination of education or work experience.
  • 3+ years developing SQL queries (Snowflake preferred).
  • 3+ years of Business Analytics and Insights or Data Analysis experience
  • Strong understanding of ETL concepts.
  • 2+ years using Business Intelligence Tools to visualize key company metrics (Power BI preferred)
  • Experience working within the retail industry and high-tech environments is preferred.
  • Experience on working on projects that touch on data, IT and general insight packaging and synthesis work that our team delivers across the business in either dashboard, powerpoints and White Papers.
