Northrop Grumman Strategic Space Systems Division (SSSD) has an opening for a Principal Project Lead - Process Excellence to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Redondo Beach, CA.
The Principal Project lead will concurrently lead, support, and facilitate strategic operational improvement and transformational initiatives across SSSD. In this role, you will help achieve corporate business goals and strategic objectives by devising creative solutions and innovative ideas, creating supporting documentation and coordinating implementation. Oversees and manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between management and project team. Reviews status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports. Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives. Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with managers and clients. You will meet with subject matter experts (SME) to capture best practices and lessons learned, and integrate those into existing processes. You will use process mapping software (such as Nimbus) to develop and maintain process and data models; specifically to define "current state" and transform into the "future state".
Essential Functions:
Train and lead team of tech writers in parsing documents
Analyze existing process documentation to parse out content according to process model needs and SSSD document hierarchy
Set up and hold SME Review meetings
Develop hierarchical and sequential process modeling concepts/techniques
Analyze business process documentation to identify opportunities for streamlining and improvements

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree with 6 years of progressive experience.
Experience in process improvement efforts
Experience working within cross functional teams
Experience analyzing business processes and implementing or streamlining improvements.
Experience using process modeling tool, Tibco Nimbus.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret and SCI clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
Project Management Professional (PMP) and/or Professional in Business Analysis (PMI PBA) Certification
Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt Certification
Broad, enterprise-wide view and understanding of strategy, processes and capabilities, enabling technologies, and governance
Understanding of hierarchical and sequential process modeling concepts/techniques
Strong business acumen and proven track record of providing innovative solutions

Salary Range: 83600 - 125400
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
