Job Description

The Associate FP&A Director is an integral part of the planning, analysis and reporting of Guardant Health's consolidated results. Reporting to the VP Finance, Financial Planning and Analysis, this role provides the unique opportunity to analyze business performance, manage budget and forecast cycles, and create presentations to senior management and Board of Directors.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing the consolidation of P&L forecasting for all quarterly estimates and yearly budgets, including setting presentation templates and communication with various FP&A teams
  • Work cross functionally within FP&A and collaborate with accounting and IT teams to consolidate P&L and monitor performance metrics and synthesize trends
  • Perform P&L analysis based on FP&A team input for all forecasting cycles, including understanding each BU and functional area variances (e.g. vs. budget/prior year) and related risks and opportunities to the current forecast
  • Assist in the creation of presentations summarizing performance for Senior Management, Board of Directors, Investor Relations, etc.
  • Manage and maintain monthly/quarterly KPI/management reporting
  • Track approved budget changes and amounts, reconcile forecast to budget by approved programs, their respective headcounts, and associated spending, as well as various other types of expenses
  • Significant involvement in projects to improve company planning processes
  • Create and maintain CFO calendar and budget and forecast calendar and process
  • Help execute on ad hoc requests as assigned by VP and/or CFO
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance or Accounting.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of FP&A related experience and corporate FP&A expense a plus
  • Ability to think creatively and quickly with minimal direction and information.
  • Strong relationship building, collaboration, and communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical, decision-making and financial modeling abilities.
  • Data oriented and consultative problem-solving mindset.
  • Strong finance and accounting skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excel Power User proficiency required
  • Expertise in presentation tools such as think-cell, powerpoint, etc.
  • Experience with ERP and financial planning systems such as SAP, Oracle, Hyperion, etc.
