We are proud to offer an exciting temp. opportunity to work as a Research Associate at a revolutionary Food Company.

Temporary Assignment for 4 months.

Work Schedule: 8am to 5pm, Monday - Friday

Pay Rate: $25 to $27/hour, depending on Industry Experience

We are inviting a diligent, self-driven, mission-aligned biochemist to join the Discovery team. This position will develop and perform bench-scale methods related to food protein extraction, processing, and characterization. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, collaborative research environment.

Responsibilities:

• Extract and process food proteins on the scale of grams to liters, following protocols
• Learn and conduct food protein functionality assays
• Prepare samples and collect data from analytical instrumental measurements
• Maintain a clean, sanitary, organized, and safe workplace
• Maintain accurate and detailed batch records and protein inventories
• Design and improve SOPs under the supervision of scientists

Qualifications

• BS in food science, biochemistry, chemical engineering, or related fields
• 1+ years in a laboratory setting that includes general pipetting, making buffers, weighing skills, and wet chemistry.
• Any experience including SDS-PAGE, UV-VIS, pH, protein assay, moisture analysis, and texture assays, are useful but not required
• Good quantitative reasoning, observational skills, hands-on abilities, and organization
• Excellent record-keeping and oral and written skills, with the ability to communicate in an open, transparent, timely, and consistent manner
