Under the general direction of a Staff Services Manager I, the Associate Governmental Program Analyst independently performs duties relating to the hiring process, which includes Examinations, Recruitment, and Classification and Pay functions. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring that current laws, rules, and polices are followed throughout the testing and hiring process. The incumbent communicates with all levels of agency staff, and provides consultation and guidance on a wide variety of Human Resources related matters that may be complex and sensitive in nature. The incumbent will also consult with various control agencies such as the California Department of Human Resources (CalHR) and the State Personnel Board (SPB). Travel required up to 10% of the time.
This limited term position may be extended up to 24 months if supported by workload or may become permanent if workload becomes permanent.
