Our client is looking for a Facilities Business Analyst for a 6+ month contract in Sacramento, CA.
The Senior Business Systems Analyst is responsible for requirement development for applying technology to satisfy business needs for IT Facilities projects. Applies advanced business analysis concepts to identify, evaluate and define highly complex systems scope and objectives based on advanced knowledge of IT Facilities, Auxiliary Services, Cabling and IT Implementations practices, processes, and systems along with industry standards to meet end-user needs. Works at the highest technical level of various phases of systems analysis and considers the business implications of applying technology to the current and future business environment. In addition, conducts complex business process analysis resulting in the identification of customer processes, issues with modernization, and developing solutions by collaboration with internal departments and external vendors. The Business Systems Analyst acts as a liaison between the business customer and the IT Facilities/Implementations technical teams.
The incumbent assesses existing infrastructure, equipment, workflows, and technology to analyze functionality, identify improved efficiency and productivity, and then assists the IT Facilities group in the project design, development and implementation of solutions as part of a construction project to align business requirements. The incumbent must have an equal mix of technical knowledge and business acumen. They must have the knowledge, skill, and ability to identify the business and technical standard practices of a department or group when interviewing to transition from legacy network to a modern and/or new or existing physical location. This position must be confident in evaluating the needs, identifying potential solutions, and/or engaging those responsible for a technology to develop a solution. The senior business analyst is responsible for drafting detailed plans, writing technical specifications and have the ability to work in conjunction with the IT Facilities and FD&C project managers.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Advanced knowledge of business and process analysis functions.
- Advanced knowledge of related areas of IT Facilities and IT Infrastructure.
- Knowledge relating to the design of processes and software across the organization.
- Advanced skills and methodologies associated with process and software design, modification and implementation.
- Demonstrated skills needed to efficiently develop process and system implementation plans, using common flowchart standards; ability to map out complex processes (after 1-2 meeting sessions with customers) as clear as possible so that the process under review can be readily understood by almost anyone, even someone unfamiliar with the process.
- Understanding and skill in complex process and systems requirement documentation standards, such as Data modeling, Use Case modeling, User Story creations and narrative description.
- Demonstrated ability to work with others from diverse backgrounds.
- Self-motivated and works independently and as part of a team. Able to learn effectively and meet deadlines. Demonstrates problem solving skills.
- Demonstrated skills needed to synthesize information into succinct, concise and logical summaries and reports.
- Knowledge of Quality Assurance (QA) methodologies; demonstrated testing and test planning skills
- Experience with developing test strategies, plans, schedules and work breakdown structures to ensure testing coverage.
- Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to communicate technical information to technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization. Interpersonal and communications skills to work with both technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization.
- Excellent presentation skills, with the ability to formulate and communicate data process, findings and recommendations to business owners and executives.
- 5+ years of experience as a business or systems analyst, leading large-scale IT initiatives and/or projects
- 5+ years of experience with process and systems analysis
- 5+ years of experience with technical and process architectures, and systems analyst methodologies and practices, including traditional waterfall, Agile, Agile Scrum, etc.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Engineering, or related discipline with an information technology focus.
