The Spirit of the Position:


The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP), Sacramento reports to the Senior Human Resources Partner (SR. HRBP) in establishing and meeting professional and compliant employment practices for 1,000+ (and growing!) employees at the Sacramento Airport. As a company devoted to promoting an employee-focused, servant leadership culture, the HRBP acts as a liaison between the Home Office and the region for programs and initiatives and helps to support the individual needs of our regional operations teams.

Principal Job Duties:

  • Partners with regional Human Resources and local operations management to obtain results aligned with business needs.
  • Manages recruiting and hiring for the Sacramento Airport.
  • Leads all HR-related transactions and partners/consults with operations teams for continuous improvement.
  • Administers HR policies, procedures, and programs in the region. Responsible for understanding, interpreting, administering, and mediating any and all forms of inquiry that arise relating to HR.
  • Educates managers with appropriate guidelines on maintaining a legally compliant workplace.
  • Identifies and leads the development of high-potential talent to support the organization's continued growth.
  • Facilitates and resolves policy and employee relations issues.
  • Maintains compliance with all state (CA) and federal laws by updating forms, policies and procedures as needed in coordination with the Home Office.
  • Manages leaves of absence including FMLA, disability leaves and others as needed in coordination with the Home Office HR, Northern California Regional HR and Payroll teams.
  • Supports payroll processing by ensuring managers sign off on hours in timely manner.
  • Collaborates with the managers to ensure pay data is completed and uploaded properly and works with managers to ensure proper wage and hour compliance.
  • Manages hiring and onboarding of new employees, including background and motor vehicle checks, drug testing and processing paperwork.
  • Assist and coordinate with Safety Manager with the maintenance of DOT records and responding to audits. Ensure compliance of DOT requirements when recruiting and hire for shuttle drivers.
  • Maintains employee data and records in the HRIS system.
  • Delivers and manages safety, wellness and health, employee communications and learning/talent development programs for the location.
  • Drives annual benefits open enrollment and responds to inquiries ongoing related to employee benefits.
  • Coordinates performance management programs, including coaching and counseling.
  • Manages workers compensation, including reporting claims and adhering to company process with claims reporting and back-to-work programs.
  • Responsible for understanding, interpreting, administering, and mediating any and all forms of inquiry that arise relating to executed Collective Bargaining Agreements.
  • Leverage analytics, data and reporting to drive results.
  • Manage, train and develop front office/administrative team to ensure sufficient coverage and smooth operation of the front office.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.
  • PHR, SPHR or SHRM-CP certification is preferred but not required.

Experience:
  • 2-5 years Human Resources experience with proven results in a 100+ employees worksite.
  • Strong employee relations.
  • Some knowledge of union laws and guidelines.
  • Knowledge of current federal, state (CA) and local laws.
  • Working knowledge of HRIS and payroll systems.
  • Knowledge of Excel, Word, Power Point, and general Microsoft Office Applications.

Physical Demands:
  • Ability to lift, push and pull at least 30 pounds.

  • Ability to apply pressure to an object with fingers and palm.
  • Ability to perform functions that require repetitive motions using hands, wrists and arms.
  • Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication and to make the discrimination in sound.
