General Description

The System Engineering Intern will participate in performing experiments to characterize the performance of robotic instrumentation. He/She will take the lead in drafting and executing protocols and procedures, analyzing data, and presenting/documenting results. He/She will also be involved in the design, build, and qualification of test fixtures. We are looking for strong communication skills, self-motivation, and a passion to push the boundaries of medical robotics.


Responsibilities

  • Understand product requirements and specifications, and develop verification test methods to ensure those requirements are met.

  • Understand, develop, and maintain test protocols, and execute them on a complex robotic system.

  • Develop and utilize data processing scripts for system analysis and performance assessment.

  • Create detailed, comprehensive and well-structured reports to summarize the results.

  • Create and maintain detailed test schedules.


Requirements

  • B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or related engineering or scientific discipline is required.

  • Work collaboratively and efficiently in a fast-paced start-up with minimal supervision and guidance.

  • Be available to work full-time (40 hours/week).

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Experience with CAD software (Solidworks or similar) and script languages such as python and Matlab.

  • Good understanding of the fundamentals of robotics and motion control is a plus.
