General Summary:

Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer, the Director of Engineering is responsible for leading the strategy and operations of a team of Software Development Engineers to achieve objectives of output and quality for effective product delivery. Responsible for collaborating with cross-functional teams such as Sales, Operations, Marketing and Finance to align on planning and execution of company goals.

Major Responsibilities:

• Assists Chief Technology Officer in the development of short, medium, and long-term plans to achieve strategic objectives.
• Work with C-level and VP level stakeholders in creating a clear technical strategy
• Reviews project reports to ensure projects are on schedule and within budget.
• Partner with Director of Product Development by implementing delivery-forward best practices and process in architecture, software quality, and engineering team collaborative
• Modify existing software to correct errors, adapt to new hardware, and improve performance
• Analyze user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints
• Establish and drive accountability for high-level of performance and responsiveness from individual contributors on he engineering team
• Ensure that team members have all the necessary equipment, tools, and support to perform tasks successfully
• Ensure developed plans are followed and maintained until completion
• Manage interfaces between the engineering team and other teams in the company to ensure smooth and effective relationships
• Identify training needed by the team and the priority it will be conducted ensure training effectiveness
• Maintain complete software theory knowledge learn new theory when the business or customer requires
• Have complete understanding of software specifications for multiple customers.
• Capable of supporting testing and offer solutions to identified problems.
• Performs other related duties as required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or engineering-related discipline. Master's degree highly desirable.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in engineering or a related discipline in the technology sector
• 8+ years of managing technology teams and growing leaders
• Solid business and technical acumen with demonstrated experience of leading teams through goals
• Demonstrated experience in developing highly scalable and reliable web service applications, including integration with internal and external systems.
• Experience creating and consuming web services. Professional working knowledge of one of the major object-oriented languages: C#, C++, Java (C# preferred)
• Database Development: ie SQL Server, MySQL, (NoSQL is a plus)
• Ease working in a small team working collaboratively using Agile/Scrum methodology.
• Solid knowledge of software development methodologies and best practices.

• Willing to wear many hats and collaborate with non-technical finance types;
