Description:

The Jr Interior Designer will assist the project Interior Designer in his/her daily duties of project design and development to include but not limited to: product research, product selections, sourcing of materials, material costs, Selections Library maintenance and Client Presentations. Report to the Director of Design on tasks and work directly with him/her to ensure the facilitation of the project's completion.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

• Schedule meetings with sales representatives to acquire the most current product for the Selections Library.
• Organize Selections Library daily. Ensure all labels and tags are current, neat and clean.
• Maintain Selections Library inventory. Order product from vendors as needed.
• Prepare presentation materials with the direction of the project Interior Designer.
• Acquire product samples for project Interior Designer when needed.
• Performs additional duties assigned by the Director of Design or other supervisory position that serves our clients and benefits the company.
• Prepare Selection Binders for Project Managers.
• Data entry of all selections and materials into Builder Trend
• Ensure that all relevant costs have been obtained for allowance items, enter cost into Builder Trend.
• Interact with the Project Managers and trade partners as needed.
• Read, interpret, review, and make corrections to finished plans as needed.
• Research concepts and materials to support design team on technical issues influencing concept development.
• Create Materials Boards for Presentations as needed.
• Perform small tasks without supervision, or moderate tasks with supervision within a given time and framework.
• Submit weekly project updates to the Director of Design.

Qualifications:

• Customer service experience.
• Creativity and imagination with an eye for design a must.
• Basic knowledge of the industry.
• Computer skills.
• Experience with Builder Trend and Chief a plus.
• Strong communication skills and work reasonably well with others.
• Promote honesty, integrity, and trustworthiness.
• Able to work a flexible work schedule at all times including weekends and evenings.
• Able to work overtime when needed.
• Professional appearance.
• Able to lift heavy items and materials.
• Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
• Comply with all company policies and procedures.
• Maintain a positive attitude always.
• Must be fluent in English.
