Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a talented Quality Manager to join our team in San Diego, CA. The Quality Manager will oversee all Inspection efforts at both NGMS San Diego Sites, including Rancho Carmel and Spectrum Technical Center and report to the Director of Quality & Mission Excellence.

Roles & Responsibilities:

The selected manager will directly manage the day-to-day Inspection efforts at Rancho Carmel. In addition, the position will oversee an inspection manager at the Spectrum Technical Center location, will champion Inspection-related initiatives to ensure product quality while improving operational efficiency.

Oversees team that uses predetermined methods, operations, setups and prescribed specifications to inspect visually in-process and completed products such as electronic units and subsystems, precision electromechanical assemblies or mechanical units, subassemblies, structural flaws, internal defects, and missing welds. Requires familiarity with various measuring devices. Oversees teams that accepts, rejects, or reworks defective or malfunctioning units or systems. Works from blueprints, diagrams, dial indicators, preset micrometers, scales, fixtures, customer specifications, drawing or inspection instructions and checklists. May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures. Performs line clearances after each lot to ensure all materials from the previous lot have been removed.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and 9+ years of relevant experience in Quality, Quality Engineering, Program Management, Engineering Management or Manufacturing (7+ years of relevant experience with a Master's degree), or 13+ years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.
Demonstrated understanding of inspection methods, quality metrics, manufacturing operations, root cause analysis, defect analysis, and control of nonconforming material.
U.S. citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense Secret clearance
Familiarity with ISO 9001 / AS9100 Quality Management System certification process.

Preferred Qualifications:

BS Degree in an engineering discipline with Master's degree in an engineering or management field.
Defense Industry experience as a Quality Engineer or Manufacturing Engineer.
Lean / Six Sigma Green Belt certification to help drive continuous improvement.
Current, active Secret Clearance, or higher or ability to acquire a Department of Defense Top Secret clearance.
Prior managerial experience, including managing other mangers.

Salary Range: 116200 - 174200

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
