What you'll be doing

As a Senior Lab & Field Test Engineer, you will support the Lead Field Engineer to execute all the test cases defined in the lab/field test plan for CBRS LTE TDD PAL network for a given venue and work with partners to ensure the Network on Wheels (NoW) infrastructure equipment is in operational stage. Additionally, you will ensure the CBRS LTE signals are in the expected range so we can execute the test cases accordingly, and work with venue application engineer(s) to ensure proper interworking between application server/client, NoW, and mobile client.



  • Work with repeater vendor engineer(s) to ensure the whole entire stadium has full coverage
  • Use QXDM to debug RF related issues including physical connectivity, Attach, and RLF issues
  • Test and evaluate innovative wireless technologies in both controlled wireless environments and real-world conditions
  • Provide assistance for all-purpose lab/field infrastructure
  • Characterize system performance, stability, and lab/field testing
  • Assist local and remote personnel giving support for telecom and computing issues
  • Provide detailed observations during testing and inform the client's team on a daily basis. Especially any blocking items
  • Help to attain comprehensive support by providing analytical services and expert technical
  • Generate and present system evaluation and test reports to customers
  • Practical knowledge to optimize the end-user experience



What you will bring to XCOM

  • BS in Electrical or Computer Engineering
  • 5+ years of experience as a field engineer or system test engineer with wireless/cellular systems
  • 5+ years of experience with a cellular network and/or Wi-Fi standards
  • End-to-end wireless/cellular system knowledge including device, RAN, core network elements (PGW, SGW, AAA, MME, etc.,) and integration experience
  • Hands-on experience with monitoring, networking (e.g., IP routing, IP forwarding, etc.,) and analyzing the client device, and hands-on experience with the following lab equipment: Spectrum Analyzer and Signal Generator
  • Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining Linux systems
  • Good understanding of TCP/IP and Internet protocols in general
  • Good understanding of LTE & 5G NR protocols (lower and upper layers)
  • Scripting skills in Python, Shell is a plus
  • Excellent log analysis, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills



It's a bonus if you have:

  • MS in Electrical or Computer Engineering
  • Familiar with packet capture via Wireshark to identify the issues (e., packet loss, latency, and jitter)
  • Familiar with CBRS, SAS, and Spectrum Sharing
