The Space Components Division is seeking a Supply Chain Procurement Buyer II to join our team. This position could be located in San Diego, CA / Goleta, CA / Beltsville, MD / Commerce, CA.

Responsibilities:

Develops RFQ utilizing Specifications, statements of work, and terms and conditions for the procurement of specialized materials, equipment, and/or services.

Prepares bid packages, analyzes and evaluates proposals, negotiates PO provisions, administers resulting PO and ensure on time delivery.

Manages performance of Purchase Orders, ensures compliance with all public law requirements as well as company (and business) policies and procedures including import/export regulations.

Coordinates and collaborates with key stakeholders such as contracts, engineering, quality, planning, operations, program and end-users.

In conjunction with quality organization, evaluates and monitors supplier quality and reliability, as well as supplier ability to support required delivery schedules.

Identifies strategies and opportunities to reduce cost, improve efficiency and manage risk through proactive supplier management

Utilizes process tools such as Lean Six Sigma with suppliers to drive quality, efficiency and continuous improvement.

Reviews and approves supplier payment as needed.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited 4 year university in supply chain management, business, finance or related field preferred

2+ years' experience in purchasing, sales, or contracts

Ability to travel up to 10% of the time

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Demonstrated leadership, critical thinking and innovation behaviors in past projects, roles or experience.

Strong time management and organizational skills; ability to keep multiple priorities moving forward

Experience in a MRP system, SAP, CostPoint, Oracle

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience procuring in an NPI / concurrent engineering environment

Experience in machining, forgings, extrusions, electrical or raw material commodities.

Leads negotiations with suppliers

Ability to read technical drawings and documents

Knowledge of government contracting requirements and regulations (e.g. FAR, DFARS, ITAR, etc.)

Master's Degree in Business or Supply Chain

Salary Range: 61400 - 92000

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
