Commercial Banking provides financial solutions to businesses with annual sales generally in excess of $5 million. Our business lines are Wells Fargo Commercial Capital, Middle Market Banking, and Treasury Management & Payment Solutions.

This Leader position will report to the Head of Commercial Banking Lending Transformation

The Commercial Banking Loan Accounting Transformation Leader will be responsible, directly and through matrixed team members, for overseeing all activities and projects that are associated with loan booking/accounting/servicing processes and a seamless customer experience for Wholesale customers and business lines. In response to significant business imperatives, informs, influences, and creates planning for long-range and fundamental retooling of perspective, approach, culture, quality, relationships, operations, and/or capabilities. Works with key internal and/or external partners to distill complex concepts into pragmatic and simplified/targeted solutions. Success will require collaboration with transformation leaders across the commercial lending business lines, control teams, Strategy, Digital and Innovation teams, Commercial Banking Technology, Commercial Banking Operations, and other key partners across the Enterprise.

This will include directly managing a program with projects that are highly complex and strategic in nature, with enterprise-wide scope and considerable process impact. It will also require governance, oversight, and dependency planning across indirectly-managed programs and projects that impact the Wholesale loan booking/accounting/servicing processes. This leader will engage with the business lines to plan business readiness events and ensure any change events are well coordinated.

A successful candidate must have demonstrated experience with loan booking, accounting, servicing processes, ideally within commercial lending business lines, as well as with implementing substantial process and technical changes with significant financial investment. The ability to drive strategic planning and timely execution across multiple organizations and priorities is essential. This leader serves as primary change overseer for assigned initiatives, ensuring solutions are designed, integrated and controlled to improve effectiveness, limit risk exposure and create efficiencies as appropriate. This leader will also have a responsibility to ensure that any solutions implemented improve data quality and adhere to Wells Fargo data governance and policies. Additional expectations:

  • In-depth knowledge of enterprise investment optimization and program governance practices at Wells Fargo are strongly desired.

There is emphasis on proactive monitoring, governance, risk identification and escalation, as well as making sound risk decisions commensurate with the business unit's risk appetite and all risk and compliance program requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: project management, implementation, or strategic planning
  • 8+ years of management experience in a planning environment



Other Desired Qualifications
  • 10+ years of financial services industry experience, either directly within or closely associated with loan booking/accounting/servicing processes
  • 5+ years of working on large-scale initiatives, coordinating across multiple lines of business and technology organizations, preferably with experience in initiatives involving complex data conversions
  • 5+ years of Loan IQ experience
  • Strong understanding and experience of process re-engineering
  • Results-focused leader with an ability to inspire and instill a strong culture of accountability and excellence across teams and throughout the business.
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proven and demonstrated leadership skills including relationship building, partnering and collaboration skills with clear ability to influence, gain buy-in and negotiate with a diverse group of key business partners/stakeholders including senior management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience presenting to senior management and ability to articulate key messages around risk, issues, customer impacts, etc.
  • Experience with Agile execution structures
  • Bachelor's degree in related field; MBA preferred


Job Expectations

  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
