About Cottage

Cottage is solving housing affordability via an end-to-end platform for designing, financing and building Accessory Dwelling Units ("ADUs").

Recent regulatory changes have empowered homeowners to build new housing supply out of empty backyards, garages and basements. ADUs can be a great investment for homeowners, naturally affordable housing for renters and steady work for contractors. The COVID pandemic has only created additional urgency for many homeowners who need extra space for loved ones.

That's not to say it's easy to build an ADU today. Cottage was born out of the pain points we felt firsthand navigating the process -- from understanding municipal zoning code, finding the right designers and contractors, to keeping a project on time and on budget.

About the Role

We are looking for a passionate, ambitious and motivated Marketing Manager to join our fast-paced Growth team! This role is for someone who wants to be part of an exciting start-up, solving complicated challenges that touch everyday consumers.

As a Marketing Manager, you are responsible for acquiring new homeowners through Cottage's current marketing channels as well as owning and experimenting with new channels. You will work directly with Cottage's Marketing Lead (Caleb), Head of Growth (Kevin), and the rest of the Growth Team to build a marketing strategy and lead various marketing initiatives and campaigns.

The ideal candidate will not just be top-flight at marketing execution but also has a strong analytical and strategic approach to marketing initiatives. At this early stage of the business, you'll explore various marketing channels, build a marketing strategy, and analyze day-to-day as well as experimental results to become an expert in ADUs, our homeowners, and Cottage.

What You'll Do

• Collaborate with the founding team on building Cottage from the ground up - including its business strategy, culture, and offerings to homeowners
• Initially, execute Cottage's marketing roadmap and strategy
• Over time, create and develop Cottage's marketing strategy (including brand, positioning, copy, etc.)
• Run effective marketing campaigns across owned, earned and paid channels
• Own the development of Cottage's voice - conduct formal and informal research with homeowners to develop an understanding of effective messages and channels

What You'll Need

• 2+ years of experience in marketing or growth operations in an early stage or high-growth tech environment
• Expertise in digital marketing, web funnels, webinars, direct mail, email marketing, social media and copywriting
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively - you'll be managing multiple projects simultaneously
• Hustle, ambition, and a competitive drive to hit and exceed goals
• An excitement to experiment, try new things, and be creative
• Comfort with a fast-paced, rapidly changing and ambiguous (but fun!) work environment
• Passion for real estate, architectural design, and/or home improvement!
