Position Overview
The Retirement Plan Consultant is responsible for building and maintaining client relationships by providing outstanding client service and advice to the firm's clients. This position is located in the Bay Area to serve the firm's local clients.
Duties And Responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities may include but are not limited to
- Be the primary client service point of contact for some of the firm's plan sponsor clients
- Meet with clients to review their investment reports and other client deliverables
- Advise clients on investment menu structure, asset class selection, and investment manager recommendations
- Keep clients abreast of changes in the regulatory environment and retirement plan industry
- Coordinate services with clients' retirement plan vendors and Multnomah Group's internal subject matter experts
- Provide quarterly market updates and investment advice to a wide range of institutional clients regarding the establishment of an investment policy statement, selection of investment managers, and monitoring of investments in their plan
- Work with the firm's investment analysts in a team environment to enhance investment review strategies and report content
- Maintain up-to-date retirement plan industry knowledge to provide fiduciary compliance and plan operation consulting
- Assess plan fees and provide plan-related cost reduction solutions
- Maintain accurate and current records of clients in the firm's internal CRM system
- Utilize the firm's internal processes and workflows to deliver a consistent client experience to all assigned clients
- Research and resolve client issues
- Assist with all aspects of the client relationship to ensure issues are addressed professionally and in a timely manner
- Maintain compliance with Multnomah Group's Policies and Procedures and Code of Ethics
- Undergraduate degree
- Three years experience in the investment or retirement plan industry
- Eligible and able to maintain active and valid U-4 registration in the State of California within 90 days of hire. U-4 registration requires passage of FINRA Series 65 exam (or combination equivalent to Series 65 exam).
- Demonstrated understanding of financial concepts and terminology
- Ability to effectively communicate technical investment and retirement plan information to clients
- Demonstrated diligence, attention-to-detail, and follow-through skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Results-oriented; must anticipate needs, be proactive and take initiative in seeing projects to completion
- Ability to use discretion with confidential and sensitive matters
- Ability to provide excellent service by meeting the needs of clients and interacting with employees, clients, and vendors in a courteous and professional manner
- Ability to work both independently and within a team environment
- Ability to develop and maintain multiple priorities to ensure work is completed in a timely, accurate and professional manner
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and Adobe
- Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Ability to effectively communicate progress and follow through on assigned tasks
- Salary is commensurate with experience
